Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the
world1. He was crucified, died, and was buried, that through death
he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil2.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works
of the devil3.
As Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly, the Son of man
was three days and three nights in the heart of the earth4. He rose
again the third day according to the Scriptures5, and is seated at
the right hand of God6, making intercession for us7.
He has gone to prepare a place for us, and will come again, and receive us unto
Himself8.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but
by Him9. To as many as receive Him, to them gives He power to become
the sons of God, to them that believe on His name, who are born, not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God10.
Having committed all judgment unto the Son11, God hath appointed a
day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness12 by
Jesus Christ.
